BenQ T700 & X725 digital cameras By Duncan Madden

Lesser-known digicam manufacturer BenQ has launched two shiny new entries into a burgeoning market in the shape of the T700 and X725. Both cameras sport 7Mp sensors placing them firmly in the midrange in comparison to the recent mega Megapixel cams from thelikes of Casio and Sony. There are other considerations though.
The T700 sits fairly slim at just 14.9mm thin and wears an impressive-looking 3in 232k-pixel touchscreen, capitalising on BenQ's LCD heritage, that also features the interesting (if utterly perfunctory) 'tag to enlarge' option where tapping the screen once zooms in on that specific area. Novelty-tastic.
The second entry lays claim to being the world's thinnest 7Mp digicam at a supermodel size zero 12.5mm - turn it sideways and you might just lose it. There's a Pentax sliding lens system with 3x optical zoom and the now ubiquitous anti-shake and anti-blur mechanism, here called SSF (Super Shake Free).
On sale come the end of June, the T700 will retail at an entirely reasonable £175 and the X725 at £165.
